This is a composition that was commissioned by Dr. Sylvia Raquel. This piece is my exploration of Revelation 7, this semi abstract piece visually tells the story of the seventh chapter of this biblical book. As your eye travels from the outer edges to the center, the sides first show the four winds and the four angles as they hold the winds back from the earth. Then as your eye moves into the center of the composition you see abstracted figures that represent both the people who are sealed and the multitude as they come from a great tribulation robed in white and holding palms. All this is centered around my representation of the throne of God, which is the focus of this piece, just as it is the focus of the chapter. Finally, the chosen color pallet represents the contrast this story has. Dark purple is representational of the time of judgment that is still at hand, while light gold is representational of the fact that God is in control and is exerting power and love. What ultimately was displayed was the calm moment within the erratic narrative, that created a beautiful contrast.
